Emmett Minge is 14 years old, lives in Bristol, Tennessee, and does not do things halfway. Every day after school, before dinner, before anything else, he is on his electric unicycle grinding mountain trails near his house until his legs give out. He is already earning national podiums. He is just getting started.

Training Until the Trails Run Out
The mountain next to Emmett's house in Bristol is both his gym and his classroom. He rides the same off-road trails — dirt, rock, and everything in between — over and over until he can clean them without a crash. "Right after school," he says,
"I hop on my unicycle and I just ride all these mountain trails until I can't feel my legs no more."
For jump training, he travels to bike parks. Abingdon Bike Park in Virginia is a regular stop. Kanuga in Hendersonville, North Carolina is another. His favorite jump is Big Brutus in Carolina, a feature he describes simply as "huge." He has already overshot it, at some cost to his body. He is 14. He went back.

The Wheel That Handles Anything
At Oak City Shred Fest 6 in Raleigh, North Carolina, the course was sandy — slippery berms, loose turns, and conditions that punished riders without the right setup. Emmett came prepared. He raced the Leaperkim Lynx, a wheel he specifically chose for its knobby tire.

"The knobby is just great for the sand and traction," he says.
Even in conditions he described as challenging, the Lynx gave him the grip he needed to compete.
The Lynx is a natural extension of how Emmett trains — a wheel built for the same technical, unpredictable terrain he rides every afternoon in Bristol.
Earning Podiums at Amped Electric Games
Emmett competes in the pro category at most national events, but at Amped Electric Games he raced in the team category and made his mark. He finished 3rd overall in the Thunderdome and 2nd in the Flow Track, two of the most competitive formats on the Amped circuit. Most recently, he took 2nd place in Men's Pro at Wheelscorcher's Fire Mountain Trails event in Oconaluftee Indian Village, North Carolina (June 27-28, 2026).

His Thunderdome run brought him head-to-head with Adrian Brown, one of the most respected technical riders in the community. Emmett does not sugarcoat the result:
"He's better than me on the berms and everything. So he got me — but he's just a great guy."
The respect runs both ways. The rivalry is real. And Emmett is closing the gap every day on the mountain behind his house.

A Family That Rides
Emmett did not come to EUC riding alone. His father spotted an electric unicycle on the streets of Nashville, decided he had to have one, and his mother bought it for him as a Christmas gift. His dad learned to ride in about a day. Not long after, Emmett found the wheel sitting around the house, climbed on, and never got off.

He has since converted his friend Avery Kent, who got his own wheel the following Christmas. Emmett taught him everything — how to ride, how to progress, how to approach the sport seriously. At 14, he is already building the next generation of riders around him.
Part of the USA EUC Community
Emmett is a registered USA EUC athlete and plans to return to Amped Electric Games events in 2026. When asked what keeps him coming back, his answer is direct:
"It's a great community. You can just feel really welcome and like you belong."
That sense of belonging is exactly what USA EUC is built around — a national structure where athletes like Emmett can compete, track their results, and grow inside a sport that is moving as fast as the riders in it. Find Emmett online as @EUC_Emmett on Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, and Facebook.
